Setup Report

 

 

 

The Report Setup dialog can be accessed for any report that is not 'custom'. There are only a few 'custom' report and you will know them by the message that appears when you try to set up the report.

 

The Report Setup dialog is to be used to tailor the report to your needs. You can change the title of copied reports, select which fields to display on the report, determine the sorting and grouping, change the layout and add a chart.

 

Field Picker

Use the and buttons to move selected fields between the Available and Display boxes. The fields listed in the Display box are those that will display on the report. The fields will display in order left to right as they are listed top to bottom on the Report Setup. You can use the and buttons to move selected field's order in the display box.

 

Sort / Group

There are five field options to sort by. The report results will sort in order of the sort fields from 1-5. Grouping by a sort field will cause the report to be display grouped by those fields. You may add a custom header that will display in place of the grouped field title when a report is grouped. Check the 'Total' box if the sort field is numeric and you wish to display the fields subtotals after each grouped section.

 

Layout

Select whether you wish the report to display horizontally or vertically. For vertically-oriented reports, you may select whether the report should display in one or two columns. You may also specify whether to insert a page break between each record for vertically-oriented reports. You may also define the report as a detail report or summary report.

 

Chart

Select a chart that you would like to display on the report. You may select between Pie, Bar, Line or Area Charts and select the field in which you wish to use for the chart data.

 

After the report is run, you may toggle between chart types by simply clicking on the report.
